G6PD test is for:
A child experiencing persistent jaundice as a newborn for unknown reasons
A person suffering from one or more intermittent bouts of hemolytic anaemia that may be triggered by an infection or certain medications
Main purpose of the G6PD test:
To determine whether a person has an inherited G6PD deficiency
Sample Required:
Blood sample drawn from a vein in the arm, by fingerstick, or by heelstick (newborns)
Test Preparation Required:
